Carolyn earned a Landscape Design Diploma from Olds College in 1989, serving as a student representative on the OC Board of Governors, The Foundation and and was president of the Horticulture Club during that time.  She holds a LGAP  journeyman ticket, and was a practicing certified arborist and pesticide applicator earlier in her career. Her accreditations with Landscape Alberta, The BBB, The Chamber of Commerce, among many others keep her abreast of emerging trends in horticulture and outdoor living. 

 

Carolyn's impressive career includes working with The City of Calgary in Urban Forestry, The Calgary Zoo as the Assistant Horticulturist, and Landscape Co-ordinator for the Discovery Ridge HOA, bridging the gap between civic and industry interests. She has been operating The Chinook Gardener for over 25 years while raising her family in the community of Lakeview and supporting local charities by employing graduates from various local programs.

 

She and her landscape gardening consultants are happy to share a wealth of knowledge and Calgary plant experience with homeowners like you! 1. One-Hour Site Consultation

• Do you need expert advice on your outdoor space?  Spend an hour in your garden with one of our qualified experts to help create your own oasis!  Feel free to take your own notes or record the consultation. If you would like to take it further and implement your plan, details and costs will be discussed at that time.  

• How much?  $195 + GST  (Within Calgary City Limits)

2. Two-Hour Site Consult/Design Sketch Combo

​

• From small garden renovation ideas to large scale landscape concepts, our designers will help you plan your own project or solve existing challenges. Create harmony in your outdoor space with expert advice on function, flow and year round colour. Bring your visions to life!

• What does it include?  One hour of the design consultant's verbal advice and notes with the second hour used to create a plan. You will receive a scanned copy of the sketch within 4 working days. Travel time is included.

• How much? $295+GST* (Within Calgary City Limits) 

 
3. Do It With Our Help (DIWOH!) 

​

• You've got the advice, the notes and the sketch or design... now what? 

• Book one of our landscape horticulturists to assist you by marking out new garden beds, assessing your soil, labeling existing plants, placing new ones, even  coaching you how to maintain your own beds! Team up with us to create your own professional landscape without the big price tag.

• How much?  $145 + GST for the first hour. Add on more time at $95/hr to get you off to a great start!
